  • adding images and video to a moving board held by talent

    Hi all,

As part of a quote I have been asked to return I have been asked to add still images and moving video to a blank board held by the talent in front of them.

The board will be flipped and moved forwards and backwards by the talent. The images/video will change when the board is flipped. I will need to add perspective adjustments to the images/video to look as if it is pasted to the board.

I need to know a rough estimate how long this would take a novice to complete in motion, also if you can give me some idea of the complexity of this task that would be great.

    Many thanks

    M

Motion has a 4pt tracker that can track the card very well is you see all 4pts. The hands will be holding the card and you will need to key or mask the hands so they don’t get lost in front of the card. I would recommend you do a quick test to see how comfortable you feel with this. Hope this helps and best of luck.

    Thanks for the reply Stephen.

The board will actually go off the screen edges at times so If we were to used a board like this – https://grab.by/80Bg I could use the crosses to track from and place the overlaid image up to the blue border?

Will the tracker completely distort the image to nothing as the board is flipped horizontally?

    Cheers

This is going to be quite difficult to pull off with Motion’s tracker especially if you’ve never done tracking before. I’d highly recommend you do a test first – and if you can’t make it work, try Mocha from Imagineer.

I agree, Mocha will most likely be the way to go.
