Wow – now I’m really confused!
Since I have 10 gig and 8 processors, why can’t I have it all (he asked in a greedy fashion)?

Let me ask another question if I might. Perhaps I need to go back to the basics.
My source material is from a Panasonic HVX-200, The footage was shot at 720pn, 23.98 fps.
Ulitmately I need to go out as uncompressed QT, 720×486 by cropping the footage left and right. What should my sequence preset or sequence setting be with the Kona LH?
Thanks!

Totally wiped the drive and did a fresh Leopard install. The problem still occurred until I reset the PRAM. Now it happens about 50% of the time in FCP and occasionally in DVD Studio Pro.
I’ve got to stop what I’m doing and restart and zap the PRAM again.Still scratching my bald head on this one.

I can do this, but it is going to be a massive PIA, with the entire Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, iTunes, iPhone, etc on the drive.
Not to be stubborn, but there there’s got to be some file hidden somewhere that can be deleted to allow the FCP install.

And of course, the solution is ALWAYS on the cow. I should have looked further before posting. The answer was here:

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up with the Big Knob and am going into a better pair of powered speakers now. I’ve got a lot of control and the sound is nearly as good as when I was in the recording studio.
The only problem now is that the audio is in sync with the video when displayed on the component monitor attached to the Kona LHe, but is a couple of frames ahead of the video when the clip is played on the FCP canvas. Could I beg a solution from you for that?
Thanks so much!

[walter biscardi] “Is your client also using Final Cut Pro? If so, just create a new project with only the good takes and hand your client the raw footage with the project.”
Unfortunately he’s not using FCP (that would be too easy!)
I’m still trying to get a handle on an output format for the footage. The footage all imports as DVCPro 50. What should I be using for the best quality output? If I use any compression except for None or Animation it doesn’t look nearly as good. But at those settings the output file sizes are twice the sizes that FCP imported

I’m looking for a reasonably accurate monitor in the 19″ or so inch size that I can use to show clients during a shoot. Source will be directly from the camera itself. Both SD and HD material will be shot.
