Hi John, I have a new workstation on order (i7 with 12gb ram). But what I don\’t understand is that a very simular project, shot with the same 2 cameras, rendered fine just a few months ago – so I\’m starting to think this could be a Vegas issue. I will hold fire until the new system arrives – I assume I will be able to render out a project created in 32bit in a 64bit version? Martin.

Hi Theo,
I will try that tonight… what settings should i use in the network render dialog box? From what you have said, perhaps i should install Vegas 8.0 and give that a try – will 9.0 projects open in 8.0 ?

I also do this, and the process already given is right. I must say, I think you will struggle to get great prints. The images are fantastic in a digital pic frame though. Martin

John,
I wonder if you help with this. I am renering my first 720p 50fps footage to bluray. My first attempt worked well – the origional files are mxf, so rendered out using the Sony mxf templte, dvda then re rendered to mpeg2 (I guess) the result was good. I just wanted to experement a bit, so I have tried to render out the footage using a templte 720p 50fps and outputing as mpeg 2 – as soon as I hit render, Vegas crashes. I have gone back in and rendered out as HDV and all seams well at the moment (3 hours to go, and I’ve gone to bed!!). Any idea what went wrong, and am I on the right track with my render settings. Regards Martin. -
Hi Theo,
Thank you for your response – and having looked at the standard template for PAL dv it is lower first – the footage is upper first as captured, so i assumed it would be better to stick to that field order. Sorry, but i don’t understand the RGB?
Are you saying that DVDA is having to re render to lower field first ? and therefor i should render from vegas lower field first.Regards & thanks

Hi Theo,
The footage is edited in 1080i and rendered out of vegas 9 as standard DV… ie mpeg 2 Video: 25 fps, 720×576 Upper field first, YUV, 6 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.457…Regards
