Still no luck with creating the BRUSetta Stone folder. Have tried with other tape sets, different destination folder locations, different DMG file locations, as an administrator… Still nothing. After choosing the DMG file and selecting a destination folder, I am simply returned to the restore page… No BRUSetta Stone files are created. I’ve searched the knowledge base, documentation, with no results. I need to deliver this project soon so any help would be greatly appreciated.

So now I try to do this but am not having any luck. I open the restore page, right click on my tape set and select create BRUsetta stone CD. A prompt opens telling me that I will have to point to the BRU PE install DMG file and also select a destination folder, I click create CD. A window opens and prompts me to select the DMG file, which I locate and select. Another window opens which prompts me to select a destination folder, which I navigate to (on the desktop) and select. I am then returned to the restore page and nothing happens? No files are generated in the destination folder?? I must be doing something wrong??

Ha, simple as that! Figured there must be a way but couldn’t find it in the menus. Thanks Tim.

Another two thumbs way up for Chronosync. Backs up our entire LAN as well as our SAN, to disk. It runs multiple backup scripts nightly and returns detailed reports via email each morning. Extremely friendly, reliable, smart and cheap. One of my favorite pieces of software! Went round and round with other, more complex and expensive backup scenarios. If you’re doing disk to disk it’s the way to go, in my opinion.

Select the bottom-most layer in your comp then shift-select the top-most layer in your comp (which should select all the layers). Copy. Delete. Paste. The stacking order should be reversed.

I’d recommend you simply call Maxx Digital and have them design, pre-configure and personally install your system. Setting this thing up is not a trivial undertaking (for me anyway). IMHO the fees they charge will more than offset the hassle of doing it yourself. They have all the requisite hardware, make very nice expandable storage and they freakin call every once in a while just to say hi, check how things are going and make sure you’re happy with their stuff… Outrageous!!

Same here… Working on ProRes output from RedAlert and the roundtrip through AE results in gamma and color shifts. This problem is not limited to DVCpro-HD footage. At my wits end for a solution

    Thanks Shane!

I’ve heard others mention being “tied to their hardware” with the Terrablock, but they do have many high-profile installations and very responsive support to recommend them. They also are approved for many performance dependent applications i.e Scratch… The EVO is attractive for exactly the reasons you state. We would love to continue to leverage our XServeRaid. The NAS functionality is also a benefit. Just such a new product and, as you mention, requires per-seat licensing of software. I’ve not been able to find any case studies or user feedback. A SAN is a big ticket item for us and with the entire facility being dependent on it’s reliability and performance, we want to make the best choice within our needs and budget.
