That hasn’t changed in v6. Capture Scratch etc are still saved at the system level rather than project level.

Yep you have to have BigTime assigned as a control surface AND have the Audio Mixer shown somewhere (hidden behind other windows is fine). Even I sometimes forget the last step and I wrote the damn software!
Unfortunately FCP doesn’t send out control surface timecode during capturing so that one is out of our hands.

If you need custom setups for output on specific hardware then you should create your own Easy Setup preset, that’s what the feature is there for, to make it easy!

Thanks! Yes the datarate is a big advantage especially when we used to bounce source clips around our gigabit ethernet network – we didn’t have a SAN.

There’s a lot of snobbery about uncompressed and sure it’s great if you have the disk space…but I edited a weekly BBC programme for 2 years in DVCPRO50 and didn’t have a single issue with quality. It looked great and is 1/3rd of the datarate.

then you can get up to 40dB of gain by adjusting the Pre-Gain slider.
