  • David, this certainly should work, can you post the project?

Motion’s max resolution is a function of your graphics card – the highest possible is 8K, which would be enough for this job. So assuming you have a MacPro, you could upgrade your card – or deliver a scaled-down version matching the aspect ratio they want, and then then can blow it up. Really, this is the client’s fault for not giving you the correct delivery specifications – I always require this information up front because it’s hard or impossible to fix after the fact.

You can’t make rigs “conditional” like you’d like. Frequently you can work around this by grouping layers and then publishing properties of the group, but there’s no way I know of to do what you are suggesting: have the rig set the values of some parameters, but then allow the user to change those exact same parameters.

May 16, 2012 at 8:36 pm in reply to: Sphere plugin, for Motion 5 ???

The Sphere filter, like Extrude and other filters, creates a faux 3D effect. You can’t rotate a camera around it. Everything in Motion is flat 2D planes in 3D space.

No plugin required – just use the Sphere filter on an image that is twice as wide as it is tall.

  • Did you enable the Transform effect (button under the Viewer) and attempt to scale/position directly in the Viewer?

  • There is no vector source for that object – why not just make your own? Shapes in Motion are vectors…
