Honestly I do not know. The C300 Mk II is relatively new, so perhaps it’s only supported in the newest AMA plugin release. Olaf’s original issue was with C300 Mk I footage, which has been supported for quite a while. I would try a trial install of MC and this new AMA plugin and see how you go.

It may be that for C300 MKII, you need the latest AMA plugin. For that, you’ll have to get the latest installer. I suggest heading here:

What exactly is the problem you’re having? I have no issue on Mavericks with this plugin.

I uploaded the plugin here – hopefully it works.
this is the actual AMA plugin which gets installed from the Canon XF AMA installer. My assumption (after my convo with Olaf) is that the installer won’t work on older Mac OS. This file, which is from the installer, is all you need.
Unzip this and drop the file into this folder:
Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Avid / AVX2_Plug-ins / AMA
Relaunch Avid and then try linking the C300 stuff…

Hi Nick,
If you have a project in 23.976p in FCP 7 and you export an OMF, the resulting OMF comes out in 24.0p. That’s bad!
The only solution to fail-proof audio exporting from FCP 7 is AAF through Automatic Duck. -
Proper 5.1 order according to SMPTE and the only order you should ever use:
Ch1: L
Ch2: R
Ch3: C
Ch4: LFE
Ch5: Ls
Ch6: RsAnybody who tells you different is attempting sabotage…

First rule of OMF in FCP7: do NOT export OMF from FCP7!
Find a (free) copy of Automatic Duck for FCP7 (FCP Export). Use this to export an AAF. There are nasty bugs in OMF exports from FCP7 that were never fixed. AAF export from Automatic Duck is solid. -

March 1, 2016 at 9:30 pm in reply to: Is there something like FCP Control-U to reset AVID layout?Shane’s advice is correct. Also note that once your workspace is saved, you can assign it to a keyboard shortcut. My F5/F6/F7 keys are assigned to the best Source/Record layout I use in three different edit rooms with different resolution monitors. These keys come in handy every day all day.

You could make this happen with:
– a projector with HDMI input
– an iPad
– Google Chromecast -

February 9, 2016 at 10:27 pm in reply to: How To Make Mono Tracks Into Stereo Using AudacityLook, nothing’s really “wrong” with doing this. There’s always a possibility that this is not a good idea, sure, but for a quick effect, it can pass. However, there could be some issues here, if the offset is close enough, and mono compatibility is a concern.
The most hilarious examples of innovation in history occurred when someone was told “you can’t do that”. Experimentation in this and any field should be encouraged, with regard to the potential pitfalls.
