We deal with this on many of our broadcast shows all the time. I can tell you that many of the “blurs” you see on TV have more to do with product exclusivity deals than any fear of liability. For example, if Pepsi is sponsoring the show, they don’t want to see the cast drinking Coke.
I would say that in your case you have nothing to worry about. (But I’m not a lawyer… )

Kip, Where have you been? For years we’ve been waiting to see Apple adopt a “script sync” like
feature for FCP. You ask are we interested? Of course we are. This is the best news I’ve read so far this year!Our company spends thousands of dollars a year generating transcripts of interviews. If we could leverage that investment and somehow make searches more efficient within FCP I would be the first person buy it. I’d be happy to have a more in depth, detailed conversation with you regarding your technology and how it would benefit our workflow.

Two different answers depending on if you have the media still saved on a drive somewhere. Assuming you DO have the full res media available, all you have to do is reconnect your “off-line Sequence” to your “on-line” or full rez media. For the details on how to do that there’s plenty of info in the manual.
If you NO LONGER have the full rez media available, then you will have to “re digitize” your completed sequence using the full rez original source. In your case, you would be screwed, since you’ve taken an interim step and converted original files to Pro-rez.
So, assuming that in your case you still have the files, it’s just a “reconnect”.

A long time ago, before FCP had a multicam function at all, Martin Baker at Digital Heaven came up
with a plug in that allowed multicam cutting. As I recall it operated similarly to the workarounds that

Puhleeze! It’s so much easier to criticize than to create. Let us know when you’ve got something even remotely comparable to Avatar to look at… and then we’ll take cheap shots at you.

I disagree. Have you seen AVATAR in 3D? Mr. Cameron has broken new ground in
moving the “cinema experience” forward. (even with glasses)There’s just too much interest from too many players in making this work.

How about this: Your “clip name” IS your filename!
Example: 1223A04-1 ( Translation: December 23, A camera, 4th load, clip 1)
If you stick to this kind of convention, you will never have a problem finding a “clip” vs “file”.
Of course this means that you can NOT rename your clips something in english like “CU Bill enters room”.
The place to do that is in the “Comments” or “Notes” column.This is a difficult concept for Avid editors to grasp, but once you get the hang of it, your project organization and uprez will go much more smoothly.
