Ok, can you tell me how I can Batch Digitize. When I do my Log and Capture, and log my tape, I, then use the Batch Capture command. And it opens the log and Capture window and then closes. Nothing. It doesn’t seem to want to Batch Capture. All I can do is Live Capture.

Of course, I’m using the “Best” motion quality setting. I’m using Unlimited RT. And yes, I have the Preview and Full bars check under the Render menu.

Yeah, as long as you stay in the HDV codec but if you want to mix it with anything else… That’s where the problem is for myself.

I have the option on mine but when I select it, I can’t see anything but I can hear the audio only. Chalk it up to yet another bug of FCP 5.0.

Not yet, but I do have some issues with the IMX codec and Kona2. Or I should say, it may be an issue with the Kona2 or Final Cut Studio. That has yet to be determined. But with the Uncompressed 8-bit codec, no issues. Have you downloaded the newest drivers – 1.1.1? That may solve your problem if you haven’t.

Well, if that’s the case. Just move it up or down a pixel or two. This will solve that problem. Always stay on a whole number, preferably an even number.

Are you adjusting the location of the title on the timeline? If so, you may just need to move it a pixel or two to fix the problem. Secondly, you need to check to see what your settings are in LiveType and do they match your timeline in FCP. LiveType defaults to 601 NTSC. If you are editing in DV, then you’ll need to change the settings to NTSC DV in LiveType under Project Properties.

Greg, how do you do that? I can’t change anything in FCS to allow me to do that. Are you capturing using the Component Out of your HDV machine? FCS will not allow chages to the HDV settings on my system. I’d love to be able to change the settings so that I can also capture in SD video but if you are using the firewire of the deck or camera, you can’t change any settings.

I, too, have the same problem. But here’s the twist. I just got my new system up and running on Tuesday. It’s a G5 Dual 2.7 gig processors with 4.5 gig of RAM, AJA Kona2 with the breakout box. I finally got everything up and running so I hooked up my Sony HVR-M10U HDV machine to the firewire port at the back of my Mac. I logged footage and tried to batch capture – Nothing! The same as Brent with his original problem but mine is already a clean new system. There’s obviously a bug in FCS.
