Definitely NOT recommended! This will cause serious issues with FCP. RAM is cheap. Buy same sizes from same manufacturer.

Yeah, that could be your problem. Very large project files have tendencies to crash more often. I would suggest that you get a copy of Shane Ross’ DVD of FCP oiganization techniques.

Are you outputting these timeline using their default settings or are you using a preset Quicktime setting? It sounds like your 720p30 timeline is being output to 720p24. Check your output settings in the Export dialog box.

Well, I can tell you this… Mixing ProRes422 with anything else is a very slow rendering process. Mixing formats is very possible but not advised for smooth editing. We try to avoid this at all cost when possible.
The question here is… What is the majority of your footage format?_______________________________

You can render to ProRes422 in your timeline, but converting your footage to ProRes422 is a moot point. It won’t make the footage any better. And render times are about the same as using XDCAM compared to ProRes422 (not HQ).

My suggestion would be to use Magic Bullet’s Colorista II. Using two layers of Colorista II to fix the condensation on the lens first then the overall image second.

This isn’t a bug or error at all. This is the way the plugin works. There is no way for to to entirely fit in the default widow sizing. You have to grab the filter tab and move it off your Viewer window to use it properly. This is all in the instructions that come with Colorista.
If this is a problem, you’re really not going to like Colorista 2.

That sounds about right. BUT… I would take your memory to 4 gig. It may shave off some of that time.
