There’s no recipe for starting a program. Its all up to your output source. Is it going to broadcast, DVD, Web… Where? This will determine your program start time.
BTW, you don’t have to start with a slug. You can do a simple dissolve on your first piece of video.

Have you checked to see if your monitors are switched to Optical Input? There is a switch on the back of these monitors for which digital input you want.
Make sure that the Mac Pro didn’t reset itself to an analog output. That can happen.

Reinstall the Sony Transfer software and FCP will see it. Although, its still not fully functional. I still cannot export to IMX50 but all of the others have worked beautifully.
You do have full and complete support for XDCAM HD, its just limited support for IMX50.

Great! No problems or issues to speak of… Now, I will say that you have to adjust your workflow some to make the TerraBlock work for your company. Progress always includes some growing pains. But let me say that the growing pains are very minimal and just seem more like personal workflow issues. We have adjusted very very well and organization is the real key to how you make this work.

We have two full time online edit systems that edit DVCProHD for the past year. Now, I will say that the cost of the system is on the pricey side but piece of mind is well worth it. The system approximately ran about $32k, if I’m not mistaken, but ours additional addons that aren’t normally included, including about $3000 for installation. A piece of personal advice on the installation, have the fibre channel installed by a qualified installer before you receive your unit and save the install cost.

Let’s just say that we haven’t choked it yet! We have two edit stations that edit HD all of the time this year and its worked amazingly well.

I can tell you from experience. We’ve been using our 6 TB 12D for a year now without any problems. It has only crashed once and it was due to a software issue that was updated about an hour after the crash. That was six months ago and no issues since. Very very tough product. I would highly recommend a Facilis TerraBlock to anyone.

Very true… But in Walter’s case, he’d have to have 16 of them to make up 8 TB. For the $399 price tag, you have less drives, less heat, less power comsumption in a RAID tower.
Now, if I could just put those into my TerraBlock, I’d be a happy camper. I know I could but NOT for $399 per drive.
I have to say that I am droolling over these drives.
