  • I suppose that depends on what type of “event videography” policy you’re looking for. Do you need a liability policy (covers you in case someone trips over one of your cables at an event and things like that), an inland marine policy (I have no idea why it’s called that) which covers theft of your equipment while on a shoot, or errors-and-omissions insurance (you put the wedding down on the wrong date on your calendar and didn’t show up type of stuff). The first two are pretty common and most insurers such as State Farm can cover you. Errors and Omissions is more specialized. WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographers Association) has someone they recommend (I think the name is Buell or something like that), but they can be a little difficult to contact sometimes.

  • I don’t know about the programs you’ve mentioned, but I’ve heard of a script that would do that in After Effects.

It was very creative, but I’d imagine if it was produced for the people in Belgium that the signs would have been in Flemish instead of English.

We’d used Elavon for about 10 year, but they kept jacking up their rates until we’d finally had enough. We switched to Prodigy (https://www.prodigypay.com) about a month ago.

How do you file your taxes? If you list your business income on a Schedule C with your personal tax return then your tax ID is your Social Security number. If you file a corporate tax return for your business that is separate from your personal tax return then you’d have a tax ID for the business.

  • The first thing I noticed about this video wasn’t the video at all – but the audio. It sounds like it was recorded from a mic that was half way across the room. Don’t rely on the camera mic. You need to have your talent wearing a mic or have a good shotgun mic just out of camera range.
You can have the greatest visuals in the world, but if the audio is bad it won’t matter.

    Just my 2 cents worth.
