Thanks Shane. But I have software like After Effects and other programs that won’t run on Leopard on my internal boot drive that shipped with my computer. So I was told to partition my firewire drive and install tiger on one partition and use the other partition for my media.

Are you telling me this won’t work?

How do you boot from the Second Drive with Tiger installed on it?

I’m getting ready to purchase a new 24″ IMac to load Final Cut Studio 2 on and I have the same concern as the person that posted this question.

How about placing markers on the “individual clips” instead of the timeline.

Just click a clip and press the M key. This way you can edit the sequence in the timeline and the markers stay with the clip/frame.

In Final Cut Pro, they call a video mixdown “nesting”. What you have to do is select both video tracks, go to the Sequence menu > Nest (items), name the nest, and click Ok.

There you have it. The Final Cut Pro video mixdown.

The media is locate on an external Lacie firewire drive. No. It doesn’t happen on the same frame or spot in the timeline. It’s random.

If I export the sequence as a quicktime movie and reimport into FCP, do you think I would have any problems with playback in the timeline?

I checked and double checked the sequence and everything is rendered.
