Can\’t see any information about this anywhere – you had posted a SliceX link but that disappeared.
What is Track X ?

[Steve Connor] “Of course it was sill beta! almost all V1 software is missing features and buggy, it is impossible to get software to any level of maturity without releasing it to the public.”
I appreciate that FCPX 10.1 is a far superior product to 10.0.1 and that software has to mature through user feedback, however I have struggled to make sense of the weird Event / Project split and it is only now that we have a unified piece of software.
And this is built around a logical hierarchy Library – Event – Project – all held together in a neat understandable, transportable, shareable bundle.
All I really wanted from 10.1 was stability and this I feel has been achieved but it has been a very tough user experience to get here.

I still like the title of this forum although I feel the heat went out of the stew a while back.
Originally, with the huge controversy over the lack of professional features in FCPX, it covered the debate of where to go from FCP7 and with a few exceptions it was really a Premiere Pro vs FCPX debate. But the CC subscription model really placed a fork on the road.
Maybe the title could be ‘ After 10.1, is FCPX finally a contender?’

Happy New Year Andreas,
Have you discovered a way to remove all effects and clip attributes from multiple clips at the same time or are you talking about removing these one at a time from each clip?
I seem to remember in FCP7 that one could do that.
I find the quickest way is to Shift F to find the clip in the finder and then do a replace edit. Either way its a clunky way of working so if you do know a way to remove FX and attributes from multiple clips that could be a real time saver.

I’ve had no problems using Preference Manager with 10.1
( apart from re-linking Libraries which is a right pain )
In my experience I would say that Preference Manager is actually working better now as, after Mavericks, I had a problem deleting the FinalCut.LSSharedFileList, that involved restarting the computer and then trashing that. ( probably nothing to do with Preference Manager and more to do with 10.1 and Mavericks.
Either way great support for this free piece of software from Jon Chappell. I couldn’t count how many times I’ve used it over the last 2 years.

I’ve had this message a few times now.
I have 3 drives connected to my iMac at the moment, a 8TB Thunderbolt GTech drive and 2 4TB Gtechs connected via the LaCie TB eSats hub.
But what is causing the problem is unknown. It’s that old old problem where CMD Z also stops working. What’s good about the message which basically is a force quit is that one doesn’t go on for ages without knowing about the problem.
So thanks to Apple for this error message that let me know about this problem with their software.
The next step will be to fix it.
Preference Manager to the rescue !

[Michael Sanders] “In an audio track, create to key frames. Put the cursor between the two keyframes – the cursor becomes the weird cross hairs. Hold down the mouse key and drag left or right.”
Or up and down – yes, this can save a lot of time, pretty neat.

Yes, I use the LaCie eSATA Hub to connect 2 eSata drives. ( GTech 4TB )
Not a lot to say about it it. It just works and it has a very nice blue light.
