Deleting certain FX in many clips and changing parameter in multiple clips

You can delete all the FX from all clips except the one you changed.
Then paste attributes from the “setup clip”.
You can’t keep the stack order of FX though.

Happy New Year Andreas,

Have you discovered a way to remove all effects and clip attributes from multiple clips at the same time or are you talking about removing these one at a time from each clip?

I seem to remember in FCP7 that one could do that.

I find the quickest way is to Shift F to find the clip in the finder and then do a replace edit. Either way its a clunky way of working so if you do know a way to remove FX and attributes from multiple clips that could be a real time saver.

may be i’ve been not detailed enough.

so if you select multiple clips and go the inspector then select the fx you want to remove you can press the delete key and this fx will be deleted from all clips you have selected.
that wasn’t possible in fcp.

to apply the same effect with different settings take one and make the settings you want, copy. then select the clips (maybe the same as selected before) and hit cmd-shift-v and click want fx you want to apply.

as said before you can’t set where in the fx stack it will be pasted – its always on top.

And one more thing: I don’t seem to able to make keyframes within the Colour Correction tool (apart from keyframing the mask). Is that true?
Would be a real bummer, if you can’t do that. Having now the work around of blading the clip, then moving from one to the other correction with a crossfade, but that is kind of dodgy.

No, unfortunately not.

There is no chance for me (and others as well) to do anything like that rather than writing a complete new color correction FX. But latter is beyond my scope.
