Oh dear, if you are still stuck make a .zip of one of your image files & the problem project ( setup ready to render) and upload it using the link above.

With transparent BG the actual BG colour reappears when you render ; put a white solid behind the sequence or set BG colour to white.
Plus – sounds like your images could have a slight transparency try Menu>Channel>Alpha levels on them.

Thanks for your patience Mr E

  • By default colour I mean what Zax refers to as underlying surface colour.

For any folks trying to make parts of their objects transparent: – you need to assign alpha information to the texture map thumbnail position next to transparency; ie. second slot from bottom.

Thanks for the idea Dennis – it would work but I would like to reduce the amount of steps to get a file out.

atm. that “favourite” setting is right there in FCP as standard.
I want to avoid scrolling down that long long list x times an hour if I can help it.

Does anyone know of a filter that will automatically “duck” volume in response to another track’s level? Classic example – the music track against voice over?

    regards to all

I agree that the relationship between psd and ae projects is no longer reliable, layer order mistakes should be unheard of.

Until recently I had been clonking along with PS 7 on Tiger; things were fine (although not officially supported) when I stumped up for the CS3 production pack – including the latest ps, it was a great surprise to find things suddenly going awry.

Can anyone comment if CS4 is better?

For got to say – opening and saving in preview fixes the file to FCP’s liking on my system.
