I already had BCC 8 with SVP 11 and they work even better in SVP 12 because of the preview Window handles that allow you to adjust parameters from there in addition to the OFX plugin dialog.

A fresh install is always better if you have the time to invest to do that. I have had problems in the past with other software conflicting with Sony Vegas Pro in that they leave codecs registered after removing the files that support them (Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 messed me up where I could no longer view the footage from my Panasonic camcorder on the PC. Once I reinstalled Adobe again I was fine. Since then I have done a fresh install and left Adobe off. GIMP works just fine for my needs.

October 18, 2012 at 3:49 am in reply to: selecting an event AND giving it focus WITHOUT having to mouse clickHere is the list of keyboard commands:
https://dspcdn.sonycreativesoftware.com/manuals/vegaspro12_keyboard_commands_enu.pdfA workaround to not move the cursor position is to hold down CTRL as you click the event, although you have to CTRL click the previous selected event to unselect it. I just tried this and it left the cursor in the same position to split the event.

You might have missed this portion of the registry. I just became aware of this the other day.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sony Creative Software
I did upgrade before the expiration and I think it told me to uninstall, since the beta was a higher build number than the released version. After installing again, search for any log files just created, those may give us a hint about what is going on. I usually just search drive C for any files created today.

Can you provide some more details as to far it gets during the install? I too had beta tested and had version 10 and 11 installed. I had no problem installing the paid version last month.

I looked at the video you shared, but I am not an expert with this by no means. I can share a few things I noticed, but I am interested in what others recommend to you too.
I don’t think the light intensity really makes a difference, the problems you are having are the shadows produced directly behind you, that produces that slight outline around your body and fingers. The fact that the green screen is wrinkled produces additional shadows that BCC can deal with, but avoiding them altogether will make the editing go much faster.
Normally they have the subject further away from the screen to help with those shadows, but that is not a luxury you have, so you may need more lights on just the screen to try to eliminate the shadows produced by the lights illuminating you subject.
I have heard that the BCC chroma key works better than the Sony one for trying to correct these issues and I have the same software. I just have not gotten as far as your setup yet. I tried with a cloth and a couple work lights just to try out the technique last year.

I think you have to hold the phone sideways to get it to be 16:9. As you already stated you can zoom in, but at a loss of resolution and part of the picture. Another option is to pan and zoom to show the interesting parts of the video or have a creative background instead of just the black bars on the sides.

October 16, 2012 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Slow audio rendering. P4 machine performs faster than Core i7 ?!Did you check the Audio Device Type under Sony Vegas Pro Preferences? Mine is set to Microsoft Sound Mapper. This setting would be specific to Vegas Pro where you are seeing the slow down.
