Sorry, didn’t see the better answer until after I posted.

It’s in the Bios… I don’t have a bios cheat sheet for that machine in front of me, but just get into the bios and look for the PCIe settings. you should find it there.

I just bought the update, trying to use it today…wow, what a letdown.
First of all, if it supports avid, i don’t see how.
So i tried exporting a premier file, Avid, can’t read it, resolve can’t read it.
Tried exporting the ‘extra’ premier file with the audio replaced, Doesn’t seem to write the file. if it did, it hid it someplace I can’t find it.
cant even see a thumbnail of my head slate of each clip (Black Magic Cinema Camera recording in DNxHD mode.) of course all the codecs are on the computer, every other piece of software can read the files just fine.
Not sure I would have taken this upgrade if they’d been paying me 99 dollars to take it. since it was the other way round it seems a total rip off.

It is within my range of experience that sometimes BM gear just does random stuff.
I pretty much gave up on a hardware fix and just purchased plural eyes. I like not having the sound mixer tied to the camera anyway.

If you use a go pro camera in pro tune raw mode there is a LUT that goes a long way toward matching the footage with the BMCC Raw look. not perfect but a great first step in matching. Just google gopro to bmcc lut.

Never mind… missed that the AAF edit protocol button was not checked.
Works now

Windows 7 SP 1.
I have tried several combinations of formats…
1. coming from a disk directly out of a BMCC (exFat) attatched throu a SIIG USB 3 dock to a USB 3 attached exFat. Fails after a few minutes.
2. BMCC(exfat) to combination of internal array NTFS and External USB 3 drives exFat. Fails immediately.
3. Directory on the internal array (NTFS) to another directory on same drive (NTFS) failes after a few minutes.
All files for #1 and #2 are generated by the BMCC in DNxHD 175.
For #3 I tried BMCC DNxDH and also files from a sony nex-fs100 (avchd)
The really anoying thing is that there is apparently no way to tell WHY the transfer failed which makes troubleshooting unnecessarily complicated.
Also, realistically, when I get this computer into the field, it will need to do verified copies between exFat, NTFS, and LTFS (LTO 6 Drive) on a routine basis. When I have clients that use macs I will also need to transfer to their drives over thunderbolt. So it seems a far cry away from being able to do that at the moment.
Also, when it was transfering it seemed REALLY slow. I know it’s varifying, but still…. even the internal disk array to itself should have been faster.
Thanks

Have to agree. can’t do it on a mac. PC you should be able to though. I’m building out a PC for on set CC and rough editing up to 4k res. The basic unit is coming in at a bit over 2000 before the ‘special’ items like a color grading monitor, LTO 6 drive, and an artist color controller. (none of which you need for an editor). that’s with 32k, 12tb of storage, 4th gen intel, etc. (even have Thunderbolt if ASUS will get their expansion card approved by Intel and to market.)
