Thanks for the followup. The network is used for moving media. All computers are PCs. All setups/settings were done by Avid reseller, so I assume they are “by the book”. I will read the “Read Me” file and check settings AND ask the reseller for some help. Thanks for the troubleshooting help.

Thanks for the response. If I apply an effect and backup the position indicator, say 5 seconds, the playback stutters within a second or two and plays the effect fine! This happens only after I add an effect. No colored lines appear at the bottom of the timeline. The 4 drives are: Avid Ultra 320/LVD (computer: hp xw8200 with 3G RAM). It seems to be some sort of a buffer problem; but the same problem on 3 systems?
Could it be a networking issue? This is the one factor all systems share besides all using Media Composer software?

August 3, 2007 at 12:34 pm in reply to: change clip hi-lite color in bin

The Windows Display setting in the Appearance tab (Advanced – Item: Selected Item)does change the high-light color in a Windows folder, BUT not the selected item in the Avid bin.
Am I doing something wrong? Does this work for you?
Windows settings do interact with Avid settings, but I can’t see how to change the Avid bin high-lite (selected item) color.
Maybe I’ll just let it go.
I appreciate your time and help.

That’s right, BUT, what about the HI-LIGHT color that shows which clip is selected in the bin?
Do you think that can be adjusted?

August 8, 2005 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Mezzo does not backup media

I had an incorrect setting. From the Options menu go to System scanner set to ‘Media Composer 7 or Greater’ and relaunch Mezzo. The thing that makes no sense is that I’m using Xpress 2.0 and so I wrongly heeded the warning ‘for Media Composer 7 or Greater ONLY’ on this setting!
The answer came from mvegas at the Avid forum for Mac Xpress.
    Thank you for your help.
