Also a good OpenGl card will help speed up workflow. I recently swapped out my ATI 1800XL for a QuadroFX 3450 card and was blown away by how much faster I could work.

As Dave stated, the Matrox card will not do much for you in AE….In Premiere it will definately speed things up.

If you shoot in video, you may want to look at something like Halide from Amber Visual (google search) or Magic Bullet to get you to 24p for film look. Both packages also do great back and white film looks. Halide renders way faster and is faster for me to work with on the timeline.

I have used them…but to be honest I don’t know if they can be animated…. Back in version 5.5 I had all of my photoshop filters (some didn’t work tho) copied to my AE plugs….I found that I wasn’t using them all that much, so since that version I haven’t done it.

I would probably attack this using Nulls and parenting. That said, I am not all that good at expressions :-0

Not in AE…If you have something like Audition, then you can go into the spectral view and isolate and remove portions of the sound….If not, and there is a budget, then I suggest trying to go to an audio guy and having him do it. I can do audio, but my audio guy can REALLY do audio 🙂

Thats a pretty vague question…it is a little like asking if you can get a car to run better……

That said 🙂 There are a number of things you can do, but if the video is really bad, I like to embrace the “badness” of the video and build something that is grungy…make it look like you meant it to look that way.

Be a little more specific and maybe we can give a solution.

I believe the component cable is still extra when you purchase the standard Mojo. Mojo SDI comes with the cables.

I had a friend who is good at soldering build my cable. I went to a local electonics store and bought the svideo adapter. It took my friend roughly 10 minutes to solder the parts following the wiring diagram available on the Avid website….total cost was between 10 and 15$….Avid wanted 75$. I really appreciated the fact that Avid posted the wiring diagram on their website.

I have found, as Reg, that burn speed is critical. i have an older Pioneer player that I use for testing my disks (along with other players). The Pioneer plays anything burned at 4x very smoothly. When I burn at 8x I get choppy playback.

I only use TDK-R disks. I have used a lot of them and am very happy with the reliability and compatibility.
