    Hi,

I have a AVID MOJO system.

I want to hook it up to my Beta deck.

What do I need to buy to get deck control to my Beta deck

What do I need to buy to be able to digitize compnenet in from the Beta deck

AND where can I get this stuff?

    Thanks

[normco] “What do I need to buy to get deck control to my Beta deck”

You’ll need a serial/RS422 converter. Google ‘rosetta stone and machine control

Is this an SDI Mojo or component mojo? If its a component model, you’ll need an Avid supplied component to S-Video cable. You should be able to order one for Avid or a reseller. If your mojo is SDI, you’ll need an RGB to SDI converter. Aja makes a good one, as does Miranda.

Just google the products I mentioned, and you’ll find a multitude of vendors…

Component video is standard on both the analogue and SDI Mojos using the cables supplied with the Mojo.

Thanks! When I bought my two analog Mojo’s, cables were extra…

    Jon,

I believe the component cable is still extra when you purchase the standard Mojo. Mojo SDI comes with the cables.

I had a friend who is good at soldering build my cable. I went to a local electonics store and bought the svideo adapter. It took my friend roughly 10 minutes to solder the parts following the wiring diagram available on the Avid website….total cost was between 10 and 15$….Avid wanted 75$. I really appreciated the fact that Avid posted the wiring diagram on their website.
