I think we have to wait for the win version and see what will happen.
As i see it there may be something changing as all the hardwares support is on more modern technology.
It can give out more features that mac can not do now.But this is my wild guess just based on the rumor that mac pro could be eol soon.
If i had business like that then giving out some of the software free would be reasonable to
support other products.Maybe we will all buy avid soon 🙂

If Maximus can give out cuda suport and Resolve could use it then we get the bang.
What it says to me is that if apple does not revamp mac pro fast and soon it will die on pro market.
Do not get mi wrong i will keep my imac as i love it for web 🙂Geting boxx for my davinci and 3d jobs seems the way if pros will not get up to date on tech side.
It is like sgi on pc.—

I think mac book makes you no where near colorist.
It is slow and slow. Resolve kicks with big panel and multi gpu machines with shared database.
My first tests were on imac. It was long way from realtime 🙂And yes experience is essential. Bullet friends will not be fast geniuses any time soon.
I agree that client will buy service and results, not sexiness.
Around here everybody are editing on laptops. But some will not do it by them selves.
I can build a house but do i want to do it ? The same goes with service.
Some will do it by them selfs some will not.—

I think thunderbolt device is your only option at the moment.

I just got the same question if you can run 2 displays from 4000 and have scopes on one of them.
And having 470 just for gpu.
Scopes question came along in an other thread where it seems that ultrascope is 422 only but
some workflows need 444 material to used. Maybe it does not matter but interesting still
if it will work 4000 with 2 displays and 470 just for gpu and scopes also live on second screen.—

transcoding this 5000 pixel stuff to something else seems also reasonable idea if this resolution is not needed in the workflow later. Specially animation format as it is not supported as far as i know ?
I would even bet that you should try to swap 4000 cards when you have just one in the machine.
Some people have had problems with faulty cards.
Specially on 4000 series.—
