Have you got eny other machine with similar lane that you could test your BM card there. If it shows up there the the card is ok and your first machine software configuration is bad. If it does not show up contact you reseller and figure it out.

If you use just one physical drive then no wonders there if you have small slow almost full drive.
Now you just filled it with more demanding long file and voila you got the need for decent array or just meybe two drives striped depenging your format and compression.
Make BM drive test and post the results here and tell what compression do you use and how big the drive is etc. Otherwise it is more guess work like i have a computer and it does not work. Who knows maybe you have C64 running there 😉

Hi.
It seemes that RED is the key part here as BM should read vanc trough SDI. I have done it with digibeta and SDI.
But why use SDI with RED enyway ?

Why not edit on FCP with full quality or DV and then make stuff you need and output directly to digibeta. You could edit on pretty slow laptop using DV and then online on studio mac and output to tape. Less pain and more speed id say. I think avid is a bit over rated these days if your not a tv station.

Hi.
Even raid 5 is not a miracle. Some day it might “burn” also. Few separate backups in separate places is more safe. it is more risk management question than drives.

Yes i figured it out … I contacted people behind cineSpace and got VERY detailed information haw and what to use etc. HDLink pro is way to go i think.
I advise you contact them … they are very helpful.

Just add sync generator and you have a lot less trouble all the time.
Sync Generator US$295 from BM is pretty cheap and painless to use.
I see no point playing with your time and nerves 🙂
