Perfect…thank you!!

But I thought a widescreen setting only changed the pixel size….makes each one wider. I need a setting that squishes the wide picture into a 4:3 frame. But I’ll try a render in widescreen later today and post the results.

August 28, 2007 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Best method of presenting demo/footage for client?Perhaps some of your DV footage could be “framed” also to keep it in a smaller-but-tighter-looking resolution (it’s good for footage you no longer have the original or cannot re-render).
Display that simultaneously with other, similar DV footage (think like the show ’24’). Yes the black space may seem different, but it’s a creative way around your problem and looks better than the alternative.

I did a search under the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) and it mainly came up with a Logo’s Font, form, artwork, design, etc. as the protected item.
https://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=tess&state=frlqqe.12.1
I did not find hits on Pulp Fiction, Gladiator, A Clockwork Orange, etc. So my guess is a Trademark in NOT the normal way to protect a film’s title??

“My suggestion is to get those episodes in the can to prime yourself better for nibbles but do it on sponsorship dollars. Networks sell sponsorships and when something comes down the pipe already well funded, they tend to listen more.”

Thanks for the answers and encouragement! Where is the best place to find info on these Sponsorship Dollars? How do I apply?? -
My question is IF everything went well, you had perfect weather, and you shot only FULL shooting days, then presented him with a FULL CHARGE invoice – would he still argue about the price? That says a lot about the situation (ie. rationalizing, the budget, and your friendship).
-
From the looks of it he might be expecting 1/2 day rates plus travel. But it also sounds like you had to show up regardless of the weather and this must be decided if it’s something you want to charge for.

The “force relink” steps…is it a simple renaming of files under Explorer, then browsing to the original source under Vegas?
Q’s:
What frame rate will you be working in? :: 25FPS
How will you be monitoring during the Vegas part of the job (HD-SDI?) :: TBD
What does your lab want as a final file type for the film-out? :: a Hard drive will be returned to the Production company
What lab do you plan to use for this? :: Again production will handle this.
We are only responsible for about 3 minutes of Visual effects on 10 shots. But we will receive and deliver in 10-Bit Film 2K resolution. I’m guessing Vegas cannot handle this level?? Maybe ver 7.0 will have more teeth to do the job??
-
The question was asked because we are doing visual effects for a movie. My colleague screams that Vegas can’t be a real contender because it’s never done a feature in all the time it’s been out.
I’m not sure it even can do film 2K rendering, 32 bit color (float?), EDL’s, etc.
