    Hey Dan,

I do have the Pro version. It’s weird cause I have downloaded other scripts (not from that source though) and they worked fine.

The only thing I noticed is that when I downloaded this last batch, the files came with a “.txt” after the “.jsx”. I deleted the “.txt” but the problem remained.

    Jeremy,

The driver update may have done it. I updated from 1.2 to 3.0 and it seems I’m getting the signal through it. I’ll be able to connect it to a deck tomorrow when I’ll know for sure.

    Thanks,

Thanks a lot for all the responses,

Trust me, guys, if I could I’d avoid the PC altogether and have my laptop connected straight to the deck. I know how much of a pain is to change systems midway through edit. I just want t stick to my G5 and use it as much as I can. As I’m doing this as a freelance gig, I can’t impose the AJA purchase on them. That does sound like the best solution though and I may have to consider buying it myself.

First, I’ll try Automatic Duck. Hope that works…

    Thanks, Ben!

I knew of Automatic Duck but as I had no intention os exporting a sequence/timeline and using the PC as a simple capture station I was hoping to bypass the software. Isn’t there a way fo converting the OMFI files into QTs in AVID?
Will I have a problem sharing the same external HD between PC and Mac though?

    Thanks again!

Thanks a lot, John! The cropped layers suggestion did the trick!

    yes.

  • Hey Matt,

I figured it out. I basically selected the stroke in AI and went to OBJECT> PATH > OUTLINE STROKE. After I created the path I them deleted the solid layer and imported the AI file into AE. It worked beautifully!

    Thanks anyway, Matt!

  • Thanks for your quick response, Matt.

I tried what you’ve suggested and it didn’t work. I checked the “stroke” AI file used on the tutorial and it looks exactly like mine. Both of them are open. Yet, when I import that one, it works fine.

    Any other suggestion?

Thanks a lot, Dan! Thanks, Steven! I’m already putting in practice your tips… I didn’t know you could paste a “mask” onto a parameter such as position. That makes it much easier!
