    Hi Luke

I had already installed FCP 5.03 – there was no difference.

    Hi Trevor / Luke

    FYI
We have the exact same issue with our system.
When inserting from FCP to our PVW2800, even if timecode is deselected, is still inserts timecode.

Haven’t tried it from Deck control yet.

    BTW
    FCP5.02; DP2.7; Decklink HDPro

Just to let you guys know, I’ve had that same problem too.
    Mainly on graphics or text.
Normally a pink edge, or a white line on the edge of the graphic or text.
It happens only in 10-bit uncompressed.

My work around is also to change the Video Processing settings to Render in 8-bit YUV.

Would be nice if we could keep it all in 10-bit.

  • Thanks for your suggestions Bob, but I had already checked and tried them.

It’s strange because it only happens with 10 and 8 bit HDTV projects (DVCPRO HD and all other formats) are fine.

I am able to work but it becomes a pain having to press play each time just to preview on my broadcast monitor.
Is anyone else having this problem ?

    Bryan

I have solved my crackle problem. We discovered that it was a cable length issue. Apparantly, if the cable carrying a digital signal (ie. SPDIF) is over 15 metres long, normal audio cable won’t be adequate. We changed our SPDIF carrying cables to co-axial cable (similar to video BNC cables) and our problems went away.

… not sure if this will help you though.
