  • Broadcast monitor doesn’t update whilst scrubbing on HD timeline

Posted by Marco Pulvirenti on September 16, 2005 at 3:23 pm

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but how do I get my broadcast monitor to update when I scrub or work on my timeline?

I am working in a Blackmagic HDTV 1080i50 10-bit project. Everything seems fine and my canvas updates as it should.
The broadcast (SD) monitor only updates when I play. When I hit stop, it holds the last frame played, no matter where I put playback position bar on the timeline.

It seems like a setup issue.

    Any ideas ?!

    TIA

    Marco

    Give these a shot:

    1) View>Video Playback – make sure you have the proper selection
    2) View>External Video>All Frames
    3) View>Refresh A/V Devices
    4) Try different zoom settings in the CANVAS window
    5) Try turning off OVERLAY in the CANVAS window
    6) Try selecting IMAGE rather than IMAGE+WIREFRAME in the CANVAS window

    Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestions Bob, but I had already checked and tried them.

It’s strange because it only happens with 10 and 8 bit HDTV projects (DVCPRO HD and all other formats) are fine.

I am able to work but it becomes a pain having to press play each time just to preview on my broadcast monitor.
Is anyone else having this problem ?
