After having reinstalled AE now it works again.

Ok, I’ve got it.
The esc key doesn’t works anymore like in the previous version: in AE 6.5 (and previous) esc key stop the ram preview.
Now pressing esc key stop the preview *but* starts it immediately. -

yes, I’ve restarted AE and the computer as well … it seems that AE7 uses a different way to switch. Now it seems to work if I click on the AE taskbar button. It doesn’t works if I switch via CTRL+TAB. -

Nope, that’s where it becomes weird.
I copy from the layer 1 then trying to paste into the layer 2 and AI paste into the layer 1. To avoid this what I’ve tried is to lock the layer 1 to force AI to paste into the layer 2 and then I get that msg.
That’s weird because on another computer I do the same thing and it works. I can copy / lock and then paste into a different layer without any problem. Or I can copy from one layer and paste into another one.
