Wow. OK, well, i thought i was loosing my mind, no one else seemed to have this issue over on the BMD forums.. at least that i could find..

I get to about 17-19% on my act, no matter which one, and the Resolve freezes. The image freezes, and then i get an error about waiting for frames.. But, I do have the continual spinning arrows, and today when i get to the office, i will check and see if it’s still rendering.

12 core Mac OS 10.9.5 with 28Gbram, OS on an SSD. Of all things, i even slowed down the maximum render frames thinking the machine is going too fast for the codecs to do their job properly.

I also read that the dongle shouldn’t be attached to the keyboard. like mine. so some more tests to do. But i need to get a show out, and Resolve 11.1.1 has been a major case for a heart attack.

Well, I’m getting farther, And no where, all at the same time.
I borrowed my buddies copy of Logic Pro. thoughts being maybe it’ll fix the audio issue by re-installing the drivers for Core Audio. or something to that effect.
I checked the prefs in Logic, It is definitely using the Core Audio. as you can see in the image.
And I hear everything just fine playing out..

So my OS is fine then.. in regard to Logic Pro X and Smoke2013, and quicktime and itunes, but not to Avid or Adobe..

Well, i guess it’s time to move this thread to Apple…

John, thanks for the thoughts.. i’m dreading having to do that, but you may be right.

As Google turns, i found something on Apple’s site that may be getting closer to an explanation.

Something called a StackShot, that was introduced in 10.8.4. find it by looking at your console. It may not be the correct answer, but between that and Flash, it may be.

No, i didn’t erase the HD. just a re-install of the OS. (over the previous iteration i guess).
Here’s where it gets freaky though, I have all my system sounds working. i get Quicktime and itunes audio out of my Line Output.
I get audio out of my version of Smoke 2013 Ext1, when selecting CoreAudio.
just no audio out of MC7, or Premiere Pro CC (or any of the Adobe CC apps as well)

I’m completely stumped. I would agree with you John if nothing worked.. Thanks for the thoughts though.

I have the saem issues. premiere pro just wont play.
I’m actually starting to think something in Adobe’s installer, or Blackmagic’s installer, or Nvidia’s latest, has corrupted all..

I went so far as to remove my BMD card, because i wasn’t getting audio out.
then i re-installed Adobe CC.
just now, i Re-installed my OS X 10.8.4 (by holding down control-r on start up)
My mac is barely a yr old, i have 22 gigs of ram, an Nvidia gtx570, and tons of drive space on a fast raid.
I just can’t get playback.
I tried just playing audio in Audition. and it does the same as Premiere. just changes the Playback icon, and that’s it..

I tried removing the com.adobe.audio.aggregate.plist, but i actually don’t have one.

i tried to roll my drivers back, as any logical step would dictate.. i tried 9.7.3, no luck, i tried 9.7.2 (as that’s What Smoke is spec’d to work with) .
I’m not as adapt at Premiere as i am Smoke and DS and even Composer, but int he similar vien that FCP worked, Premiere should be somewhat similar. And i get no sound out of my BMD card. nothing now. I can get SMoke to play sound out of the Built in audio outputs(line out) but nothing form premiere. Nothing. I get picture, i have Sync.. no sound. Maybe it’s more of a Mac OS X thing, cause i sure can’t be the only one without sound.. it sure is a boring world watching silent pictures.. hard as hell to edit to Audio…

Are there any ways to Update the BMD firmware or something.. Something… ?

I’m having issues with my card an premiere as well, t hough, i think it may be more the BMD driver.
Right now, i have picture out of the BMD card, but no sound. from anything. i tried Premiere, and Smoke. no audio. i tried itunes. i tried the BMD express.
Oddly, Smoke reports not getting any sync from my AJA Gen10 Sync Gen.
time to roll back this driver, or hopefully, a new one comes out.. reallllll soon..

Peter, OK. i’m scratching my head now..

I have things playing back.. what the… I have some notes.. in true artistic fashion.

bear with me for a minute..
The other thing i did.. since i had time. was to open Smoke 2012. I noticed i didn’t have picture output. so i was messing with my settings there. no luck.
i then tried BMD Media Express. which worked fine. picture and sound output. so i know my card is working. Something messed up my Apps???!!

I went back to Smoke Setup, and set my settings to BMD. the setup app keeps reverting back to none. what the hell.. In Smoke op fashion, i still had the previous version on my HD, So i went to that setup program, and uninstalled that version. seeing some weird activity, i’m now trying to eliminate possibilities..

Which is when i got your most recent response. so i went back to Opening premiere. taking a look at your pic, NOW I have options for Playback output. They were not there b4. Except Adobe DV. I set the Audio hardware to match yours, though i only had 512k set, not 10254. and that was the only difference.

Now i have playback..First Peter, Thank You..
Second, it appears, just in my initial thoughts, that there is something with the BMD drvier 9.7.5 which may or may not have confounded Smoke’s setup, which in turn limited PPro’s playback capability.

Now, Damn..i have to figure out what happened to Smoke output to the BMD..
