November 25, 2005 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Format & Compression Setting Issues W/Sorenson 4.2Is this the full version (not just the Flash version)? Sorry to ask such a dumb question, but just wondering first.
Also, have you checked your settings directory (X:\Program Files\Sorenson Media\Sorenson Squeeze 4\DefaultPresets)
If there are not there (you should see a bunch of files with .xss extensions on it including your Flash and MP3 files there), then maybe they got wiped out somehow.
This has happened to me before, and a simple reinstall fixed it.
Hope this helps!

I meant to say MPEG NOT mp3! That would explain a lot of other issues if I did that! 😉

This definitely helps! Thank you for your honesty. We went ahead yesterday actually and purchased the XL2. I think it will work out well.
Cheers!

Hi Steve,
Yeah…that part I got…That’s no problem. I’ve been using Premier with 2 monitors for a while, what is happening since I got my new laptop is that my second monitor is showing the full screen preview of the sequence (the entire screen is the preview) and my laptop monitor is showing me Premiere Pro (software). I’m not sure why that is happening. Any other ideas?
Thanks!Marcelo Lewin

Well, being in the software business, I can tell you that people make decisions on what software to purchase (or switch to) based on what is going on with the current version and development all the time. Multi-Cam support is happening in most new NLEs, so it would be nice for Adobe to say, “yeah….we will have that.” That is something they know they will either have in 2.0 or not. It’s a major thing. We get previews of software all the time (Visual Studio.Net 2005 Beta, Flash updates, ColdFusion previews, etc. etc. etc.).
Anyhow, I personally love Adobe Premiere Pro and I will stick with it, but it would be nice to hear some news about it. Questioning and demanding from a software company is a good thing. It keeps the software competitive.
My 2 cents.

I don’t get the entire secrecy with Adobe. Why not just share with us what’s upcoming so we don’t make a hasty decision and switch to FCP or Avid…man…sorry…I’m frustrated. Can’t wait for version 2.
