    Hi everyone!
I’m new to Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.2. I’m trying to capture my footage (from a Sony TRV-38). It seems like it’s only capturing the entire clip with out any breaks (in Adobe Premiere Pro I can just select “scene detection” and it will break the files into clips when it detects a change in the time code).

Anyhow…I found under “Capture Settings–>DV Options” a setting called “DV Scene Extraction” with “Add Locators” selected by default. I also see a “Create Subclips” selection. The problem is that I can’t select any of the selections under “DV Scene Extraction”. It’s grayed out. Is there some other setting affecting this setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Once you are done capturing, select all the clips in the bin before selecting “scene detection”. It only does the processing on already captured clips as a very fast post process rather than during the capture process.
