Five years between your post and mine but it made my day though 🙂 Thanx for the tip

  • Thank you all.
It seems that there is no solution to my problem ☺
The one that really annoys me is the IN or OUT that stays after an extend “N”. I always forget to get rid of that one, and every time I apply a new insert or overwrite, of course, my cut is applied at the position of that leftover IN or OUT.
I’ll have to get use to N + G instead of N. It shouldn’t be too difficult
    Thanx for your help.

    Marc

  • yes, thank you Dave, that’s what I do … when I don’t forget ☺
And that the point of my question, being able to make IN and OUT disappear AUTOMATICALLY (just like, for instance, when you use the X shortcut, it makes a “lift” and the IN and OUT are gone, no need to use the G key)

Yes, indeed, thanx but I think that it reacts a bit weirdly, it shrinks at the same time that it softens

Anyway, I worked in AE ☺

Thanx for your answers though, Dave as well

September 28, 2017 at 1:56 pm in reply to: webm transparency???

    Hi.

I also have to export an webm file with alpha (i fact the client asked me an mp4 with transparency but I suppose that this doesn’t exist).
I’ve made my key in After effect, exported it in Apple Pro Res 4444 + alpha and in quicktime animation + alpha
Then I’ve made a small investigation and downloaded a plugin for Adobe Premiere and Media Encoder.
Now, the thing is, when I export the file in a webm format with NO alpha, it is working. But when I try to do it with WITH an alpha, both Premiere and Media Encoder are crashing. And the weird thing is, though they crashed, I still can open that exported file but, again, the alpha is not in the file.
I’m using the last versions of Premiere and Media Encoder

Does anyone had the same issue?

    Thanx

  • Thank you very much Job,

this makes my day. No more flat not contrasted movie!

    Cheers

    Heyyyyyyy,

    So simple ☺

    Thank you Glenn

The extend button Job talked about is quite a fancy command though, I didn’t know it and I’m already used to it

Thank you, I didn’t know the extend button, but it is not what I meant. It works if I’m sure of the cut I want. But sometimes, I’m working in the trim mode and realize that I want to trim to the next cut. For instance, my audio is overlapping the next shot, I trim to hear where to cut it and then I decide that I don’t want the sound to overlap anymore. It means that I have to take my mouse and drag the sound (or exit the trim, make an out point and apply the extend button but it is three manipulation where one could do it)

But thank you anyway, I added the extend button on my keyboard 🙂

  • Thank U Glenn. It’s good to know.

And, indeed, it is only my fourth day but I must say that everything is now working perfectly for me. I just needed to find the way to do things right with that “new” software. I have not sworn once today 🙂

  • Rhaaaaaaa! You make my day Shane, thanx a lot

I’ll try all this in a second

May be, at least, I’ll survive that painfull experience. I’ll keep you inform ☺
