October 7, 2016 at 8:32 am in reply to: Toggle from Timeline to timeline shortcuts

Sorry, no need to answer anymore, I have my answer

For some reason my shift 1, 2, 3, etc … didn’t work. I had to assign them again it the keaboard shortcuts. And then, each shift 3 toggle through each timeline …

    Thanx anyway

  • wow … I’ve just tried to sync my rushes with the multicam function but it’s not reliable. It works for some shots but it also make fancy stuff with other (for exemple put video shots on video 2 and video 3whereas they got nothing to do there!
Well, I made the sync with the audio ref because I don’t have timecode with these rushes. Maybe that it’s better with timecode.
I thought Premiere would be easier to use with synchronization. Never mind. I’ll use Plural Eyes and deal with the small bugs with the merged clips

    But thank U anyway

  • Hi Andrew, thank U for your reply

I had the same idea but I wondered how the multicam would respond through a “basic” editing (match frame, trim, out of sync, reveal in bin, reveal in finder, XML, etc …) If you say that it’s ok, well, great, I’ll make some tests this morning. I hope that the multicam is the answer 🙂

    Thanx a lot

  • Hi Delcan, thank you for your answer.

    Wow, now that seems complete!

I still don’t know how many audio tracks I’ll have to deal with. I guess that it will depend of the scenes.
And I don’t know if I’ll have to retain the audio from the video rushes, I suppose not
Though I don’t think I’ll have the time to export audio one by one then export all the rushes again before I begin to edit. We are short time here.

But I’ll try what you propose on a shorter material because it seems really easier to deal with once it’s done.

    Thanx again

wow, that was an old one!

You’re right, I should have kept you aware of what I did.

As I said some posts earlier, I used Element 3D. I created a circle mask on a solid, extruded it in Element, added a replicator shape “ring” and animated the shape scale in the same time that the particule scale (that was also rotating on itself on the y axis if I remember well)

I don’t have the result right here but I’ll try to find it back and post it

Talk to you the next time I’ll have an issue, it’ll happen soon enough 🙂

  • Hello.

Thanx for your answers. Axel, yes, that’s what I wanted to avoid. When we edit it’s always annoying to loose time switching from one timeline to an other, but I’ll do that, it’s the less worse solution 🙂 Thanx for the tip

Jerry, good news! It seems that I’m not the only one asking for that option. I’ll have to wait for the next split screen editing to test it though !!!

    See U

  • Just one more thing. I’m not sure I was completely clear …
If I add a keyframe on the “source text”, it a kind of “Hold keyframe” so to text doesn’t evolve.

What I try to do is: while the text is rotating on it’s X axis from left to right letter per letter, the second text takes place as each letter would be stuck behind the letters from the first text …

    Yesss.

Indeed, easy! I tried rendering my comp as a still frame psd format but it didn’t work.

    Save frame as … right!

    Thank you very much

Arglh!!!! Now that would have been a easy solution. I really believed that it would be the answer!

I’ve just tried it but … no, it doesn’t work 🙁

But thanx, I didn’t know that preference settings

  • Hi guys

To close this post, I just wanted to say that teh duplication of the output module with 4 different crops worked perfectly and allowed me to render the 4k comp just once. Thanx

I noticed though that the problems of rendering were due to the native R3D 4K files. I tried to transcode the files to applepro res 422 HQ and the difference was really significative. It speeded up the render, at least three or four times faster! I must say that I don’t have a specific graphic card, it’s the one delivered with the Imac. I’m sure it would make a big difference if I had a stronger one

Anyway, just to say that with a small graphic card, a good transcode of the R3D files can really speed up the process!

    See U
