AE 7 can use 3 GB is OSX 10.4 as well. But 16 GB… wow. That’s like… a lot. Although, I am sure in a couple of years it will seem like almost nothing.

Unless I am mistaken, AE can only use 3 GB of RAM. My machine has 5 GB, but AE7 will only recognize 3. When you start up AE how much RAM is it recognizing?

I have gotten a error like this several times recently. The only thing that seemed to help was rebooting and restarting AE. That didn’t ALWAYS fix the problem, but somehow, after a few trys, it would just work. It is very frustrating though. If your document uses any Illustrator files, try collapsing or uncollapsing those layers. I think that helped on one of my projects.

It’s hard to tell from the size of the clip, however, I would guess they made the ink splatters with acutal ink on paper, then scanned them in and used photoshop or illustrator to clean them up, then took them into AE. The looping strokes look like they may be a mask on the scanned image though. I am not sure exactly which part you are talking about.

Is it changing each frame in real time like a filter, or are you manually changing each frame inside of Illustrator then importing them into AE? Looks pretty cool though. I especially like the style of the clip in the examples with the dog.

also, isn’t 720 x 540 PAL? I am in the US working in NTSC. I am working in 720 x 486. Is that correct? If am going to be working in square pixels now, should I work in 720 x 480?
