    Hi,

I just purchased 16 GB of ram for my Mac G5, Dual 2.3 Ghz this was upgraded from 1 GB, and it doesnt seem to be Ram Previewing or working at too much of a improved performance. I was wondering if there is something I need to do within the computer or within AE 7 to increase the speed of the program? Thanks

Unless I am mistaken, AE can only use 3 GB of RAM. My machine has 5 GB, but AE7 will only recognize 3. When you start up AE how much RAM is it recognizing?

It is only recognizing 3 Gigs as well, but that seems to be too low??? Shouldn’t you be allowed to do more?

Is there anything that can be done in the terminal? It just seems like such a waste of ram to not fully utilize all the ram power, any suggestions on this?

    Thanks

Ram controls how many frames you can load into ram and how many apps you can have open. Processor speed affects speed. I think.
