found something of a working solution.

tried one last time and activated the collapse transformations (asterisk like symbol on the left of the layermodes) and this works for me in conjunction with time remap and the previously mentioned loopOut expression (loopOut(type = “cycle”, numKeyframes = 0)

hope this helps all who nearly lost their sanity like me.

Are we really near CC 2017 version of the powerfull AE compositing software without a precomp loop function?

I’ve tried all suggestions and nothing seems to work for me.
Before i go nuts and burn away a couple of days on this issue i duplicate the footage inside my comp mannually for my own sanity…
    Maybe i’ll try later again.

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Why it wasn’t called “Spline Boolean” is beyond me.

I guess it is because a boolean is for 3d (volumetric) objects and a mask is typical for 2d objects??

    Hi All,

On the net you can find a bunch of post from people trying to play Sony EX1 format on a PC via quicktime.
A client of me delivered EX1 files with .mov extension (mp4) and i was unable to watch them but found a solution.
Because most of the decoders are heavily priced i continued my search for an alternative.

Eventually i did convert the files with a piece of software from https://www.mik-digital.de/programme.html

the program is called mp4tompg and it’s FREE!

After that, the movies played wel in After effects CS3.

Maybe someone can say something about quality loss perhaps?

    Sure hope this helps.

    regards,

    Maarten

Hi Everyone. This is my first post. Sure hope i can help someone out.

I had the same problem playing dvcpro content on a pc.
Finally i ended up buying the DECODER from one of the mentioned 3rd parties in this thread and all worked fine.

Just for the record. ONLY buy the ENCODER stuff if your final movie has to be converted to DVCPRO from another codec. It will save you around 100 bucks.

Looked for freeware or opensource around the net and could not find any.
