October 27, 2009 at 8:14 pm in reply to: Graphic file looks “squashed” in Boris

    Hi Matt,
The graphic file was made “bug” size in a Photoshop 720 x 486 then scaled further in Boris to 92.96. The Boris comp is 720 x 486 4 x 3.
There is no difference when I select Square Pixel option.
    Thanks

  • Same system. I have a note not to upgrade the system beyond OS 10.4.1 but have OS 10.3.9 installed. Only difference. The firewire drives are connected to the cpu and I also have the scsi drives running.
Let me know if you have any concerns.

  • Hi Robert.
    My system specs are:
    Media100 8.2.3a i/xr, P6000
    CPU 867 MHz G4 single processor 1.2 GB Ram, OS X 10.3.9, Quicktime 7.1.3
Cards and placement are as per Media100 peripherals guide and are placed as follows: 1. GeForce2 MX (AGP Graphics) 2. ATY Radeon (PCI Graphics for second monitor) 3 & 4 Media100 (SDI card in slot 4) 5. ATTO Express PCI UL3D Dual scsi.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • Hi Robert,
We have two 8.2.3 systems running on 867 MHz Power PC G4 with 1.25 GB ram, OS 10.4.3, Quicktime 7.1 and they are ROCK SOLID! We do use scsi as our main drives and these are noisy, but have been connecting firewire GRaids and external sata drives in a Weibetech enclosure (cheaper than G Tech) and they work quite well.
    All the best.

June 5, 2009 at 10:01 pm in reply to: HD Digitizing

    Hi Flow,
I have tried several different cables and I am using RG50/U 75 ohm cables. For genlock I do have a black burst generator but have not connected it to the system until I tried trouble shooting this problem. I send feeds to the ref in on the deck and to the BOB ref in.
I am able to digitize video or audio, just not together.
    Thanks,
    lc

    Thanks for the responses.
I am using regular bnc cables and have tried a few different ones.
Part of the mystery lies in the ability to digitize either audio or video till the cows come home but once I try to do them both together I get the “loss of synch” error. My system is not capable of digitizing embeded sdi audio and I do notice on the HVR 1500 it says 1080i 60 and media 100 only offers 29.97 (30i?). The Z1U only records 1080i 60 from what I see in the menu.
    Thanks for your time.

Thanks for this Wick, been trying hard to remember the F12. Now if you could impliment a variation of “F12” from the Edit Suite to the timeline… 😀

September 23, 2008 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Confusion about Quicktime and Media 100i

    Hi,
Just had to chime in here to echo the sentiments of the last two or so posts. Having been a media 100 user since version 1.2 (really do not recall how long ago that was :)) I have seen changes in the company, full loop since the days of Mariana Moorley to the current crew today.
I hope you will take Wick’s advise and give them a call. You have nothing to loose and all to gain.
    All the best,

    Hi Floh,
Not sure about the tech that goes into these camera originated dvd’s, but the date stamp does not show in Streamclip which is why I am using it.
    I am using ntsc.
