Greg and Brent, thank you so much! I have been wondering if I was the only one trying to utilise two machines, and now I’m more confident to try.
Brent: The 980Ti is part of my plan! Hoping to pick up a second hand one soon. ☺
Greg: Sharemouse sounds a workable way to reduce redundant peripherals on the desk. Great tip!I’m going to read and re-read both your posts. Thank you for taking the time to share your setups!

September 8, 2015 at 11:55 pm in reply to: Tiny file size videos for iOS app? Encoder vs HandbrakeThanks Eric. The file size /low data rate issue is because users have to download the video clips onto their phones before they can use to the app, so although 1000kbps would look nicer, it’s a compromise between pretty and fast-to-install.
Actually I figured Handbrake out in case anyone else wants to know. I’m using a “Constant Quality” compression with an RF of about 25 for iphone, which results in smart compression (depending on complexity of clip) that can be anywhere between 100kbits to 600kbps. Overall I’m really pleased with this, as I couldn’t achieve the same picture-quality-to-filesize-ratio with Adobe Encoder.
Handbrake is an excellent tool and open source!

Yes, sorry. Not clear. So I have some interaction between two actors, and 3 cameras on a wide and a close-up on each actor. The narrative will play synchronously but with (most of the time) one actors’ close up on one screen, the other’s close up on the other, and a wide on the third. I’ll want to mix and match this layout throughout the piece, so after one scene, the screen may show Actor1, then on another scene, the the screen may show the wide or Actor2.
Does that make sense? The viewer will stand between all screens. I have about 8 unique scenes in the 20 minute piece.

H Jules!
Very late to this thread. Hope that’s ok. I just figured out 3) and put it in a blog post about increasing and decreasing audio levels in Premiere Pro.
Cheers

Same for me. Bug I think… opening and closing fixed it.

September 6, 2013 at 2:35 pm in reply to: How To Create Proxies for RED 4K Edit in Premiere Pro 6Oh well done for finding that work around! FYI I have a hackintosh not dissimilar to your Mac – I have just edited RED 4k successfully, as long as it’s on an internal drive, at I think 1/16 th res.
For sure USB is not fast enough for this.
Cheers

I’m CS5.5 but AFAIK patching doesn’t count if you’re cutting and pasting, the selected track does.
In your pic V1 is “greyer” therefore it is selected.
Are you sure you clicked V2 to select?MacBookPro 2.2 GHz intel core duo/ 6 GB RAM / GeForce 8600M GT

March 19, 2013 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Copy an edited effects filter like a 3-way to another clip?Well, I knew it was going to be obvious! Thanks for pointing that one out. Actually loving Premiere in general. It is for the most part, the Final Cut 8 I always wanted.

Hiya,
I’m just passing, but I notice with Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 (Mac) you can encode an MPEG2 at maximum 80Mb/s
