I had this problem this Friday as well but I dont have matrox I use BMD. I had been working on this project for over a month then on friday after looking at some wmv I had made I noticed they had a crackling quality to them when I got back into premier and started working it froze then i saw “Importer Process Server.exe” was terminating, premier became unresponsive then when I relaunched Premier(cs4)all my project was deleted off the drive the folder where everything was residing looked like a file icon and its size was 0 bytes everything was gone clean off the drive.

Thanks for the response Brian, that explained a whole lot. I was under the impression that it was all native 64 bit, marketing double talk.

    Thanks

Do what I did, under the HVX right behing the lens is a nice flat spot take a piece of velcro(both sides of it)and apply it to the body of the HVX then tear the one side of the velcro off(not the side stuck to the body) put a small hole in it attache a small piece of string and attach the other end to the mic cap, then when you remove the cap it will just hang under the camera and you will never loose then again.

I had the same problem you have, I bought a plug in called fieldskit here is the web site https://www.revisionfx.com/products/fieldskit/ and it does what it’s suppose to do, turns interlaced footage into what I call “pseudo progressive”,works great.

    Hope this helps

April 4, 2007 at 9:59 pm in reply to: Time Code question….

Mine FS is set up in TC Rec Run, my client was using a player from MOG solutions and was giving me his shots list with TC, the problem was that his TC was sequential(yes even in Rec Run)but on my system it was all starting at 00:00:00:00(had to ask him where in the hell are you getting this TC from) trial and error lead me to download the xml files produced by the Firestore and when I did this as soon as I put an MXF file on the time line bingo there was the sequencial TC available, so from now on I copy the firestore full file structure(contents–>video, audio, clips, proxy, voice, icon)onto my system drives this way all the file integrity is maintained and life is much easier. Just grab the contents folder from FS and copy onto your system drive or whatever else you backup onto

you might want to try using no compression when making your QT just select none when choosing compression setting, it worked for me. I dont use avid but it might just work the same for you.
