January 20, 2007 at 5:00 pm in reply to: P2 Incompatible Card Error

I had this happen just yesterday, tried to format it using the P2 manager on my laptop and it got an error. Then when I treid to use it in the HVX I had the same incompatible issue. To fix this problem , put your HVX in VCR mode(the thumbnail mode comes on)then hit menu. You will get a sub menu in there, there is a format option that will fix the problem, If you take the manual look under the using the P2 card section it will show you exactly how to do this. I’m at home the HVX is at the office thats as far as I can bring you without it in front of me. Hope this helps.

yep, AE 7 was slow to load seemd like it hanged, to do anything within a comp sometimes was slower then molases(hour glass was there for a few minutes), and it would be slow to shut down took about 2 to 3 minutes to shut down, installed that program(suitcase) and all problems went away. Like I said I have way too many fonts you have 1000 or so. but at any rate the program is like 70 or so dollars I bought it after someone had suggested the font overload might be my problem and it worked. But if after you have tried everything to fix the prob and it still exist you might want to try my option. Worked for me can’t say it will cure what ails your system.

I have a dual xeon with 2 gigs, and AE was slow about the same as you posted turns out my problem was way too many fonts I had 7000 of them, I bought a program from extensis called suitcase which allows you to make them invisible to windows until you turn them on when needed. you can turn fonts on individualy or a bunch at a time, hope this helps.

Yep will work just fine, I have used it(reality)with 6.5, now using altitude with 6.5 then upgraded to 7.0, all is fine. I think you will enjoy the virtual file system very much.

Cool Thx, what I ended up doing is bring the entire animation in PI, I needed fireworks in there anyways then the dissolving logo at the end. In the end it all worked like clock work and I learned a heap about timing and applying particles to a whole sequence of video by doing this.

    Thx
