1. Do You mean Duplicate (DVD-R’s) or Replicate (pressed DVD)?
2. What errors are the getting? “Not passing verification” doesn’t really explain much.

A- Unfortunately you shouldn’t assume the worst. This is the same as “guilty before proven innocent” stance. I for one as well as others probably didn’t even suspect him of “ripping” because it was never mentioned. Reauthoring like I said is legit. No need for 20 questions. It was spelled out fine in Rafal’s original post. I understand as a moderator you are somewhat of “police” for the board but gotta remember there are good people out there too that aren’t out to make copies of Hollywood DVD’s.
B-Never said anything about ripping. Plus most movie pirates have there own sites they goto to get information on “ripping”. The creative cow probably isn’t on their list.
C-Wow so why have the Creative Cow boards if “google” is the answer for everything? I thought the purpose of this board was to discuss things like this with others in the industry that may have more effective ways of accomplishing certain tasks. I dont think as of yet you can discuss DVD authoring with Google.
Basically I am sorry that this has turned into a back and forth argument as this time could have been spent helping a fellow Author/Human Being with an issue that is totally legit.
I just see this type of backwards thinking all to often (not just on Creative Cow)and I think as more and more people keep assuming the worst or always being negative then what hope do we have as a society? -thats deep!

I have to agree with Dan on this. There is no indication that this person is trying to disassemble a DVD in an illegal manner. To assume that is kind of ignorant. 50% of my DVD authoring jobs are based around fixing issues with existing masters or pulling content from multiple DVD’s to create a new master altogether. In these cases programs such as DVD Reauthor Pro are quite handy since I do most of my Authoring in Scenarist.
If Rafal had asked “what is the best program to remove copy protection?” then I could see the reason for concern. But reauthoring DVD’s or offering a client the ability to extract content from existing masters is a great service to provide and the pay can sometimes be greater then authoring a DVD from scratch. I have won over many clients that either did not have the original content or they don’t want to go back to the original author because they did such a poor job in the first place.
Well thats my 2 cents anyhow. I think reauthoring should be discussed in great detail on this board because many people have different workflows or know of products that a simple Google search can not yield. I do not think that jumping to the conclusion that anyone who wants to extract content from a DVD is doing so illegally.

I think the DVD-Logic DVD Demux is your best bet and only $40.
The free ones will do just fine also.

There are a number of programs that do this. Are you on MAC or PC? You looking for free, cheap, or pricey demuxer?

My company uses WAMnet and your best best is to upload the iso/img file.

You are going to need to make at least about 3 different menus. You cant have more than 36 buttons per menu.

NTSC 16X9
High Quality
I would keep your bitrate around 6-6.5 CBR or VBR (doesn’t really matter) and 192 or 224kbps AC3 audio.
Lower Field first or Progressive.Then in DVD Studio Pro make sure the track settings are set to 16X9.
Should be good to go.
