  • Rip from DVD straight to MPEG2 format? (without re-encoding)

Posted by Matt Heeley on April 11, 2008 at 10:09 am

    Hello!

I have some footage on DVD (in .VOB format)

I have been told that .VOB is basically an MPEG2 with extra information…Is there a way to extract the footage and remove the information that makes it .VOB?

I need the footage to be in MPEG2 so i can put it into Adobe Encore with other video files to burn.

I dont want to have to re-encode it as this will cause loss of quality! Is there a way to rip the footage off the DVD into MPEG2 format?

any help would be very very much appreciated!!

    cheers

    Matt
