DVD studio pro very long build
I need to burn a 60 min DVD of uncompressed footage without a menu. It’s very simple. I created a track with the quicktime, and set it to autoplay. But it took almost 2 HOURS to build/format. Is there a way to make this go faster? I feel that since I’m not doing any fancy menu buttons or chapters, this is taking longer than it needs to.

DVD Studio Pro must compress the Quicktime Video to DVD spec compliant MPEG2. Thats what is taking so long. I would use Compressor first to compress to mpeg2 then bring into Studio Pro.

thanks!! I will try that–I’m assuming compressor does it faster.
One question though: are there any specs I need to be aware of in making the mpeg2 compression? Its currently at dv ntsc anamorphic. i just want to make sure i do it right, since when DVD studio pro does it, it comes out looking exactly as it should when played on a normal tv monitor.

60 Minutes of Video total?
NTSC 16X9
High Quality
I would keep your bitrate around 6-6.5 CBR or VBR (doesn’t really matter) and 192 or 224kbps AC3 audio.
Lower Field first or Progressive.Then in DVD Studio Pro make sure the track settings are set to 16X9.
Should be good to go.
