Here is my history so far 3 weekes ago I bought a Sony HDR-HC3 and Vegas 6. It took about 2 days but I was finally able to capture video through the internal capture in Vegas but the preview on vegas never worked, I would have to look at the video on my HC3 lcd. It would capture but I would get about 3 video drop outs a minute, last time I was able to capture I got 38 different clips in 9 minutes of captured video. I was able to capture for about 2 weeks like this.

Then I could not capture anything , even the lcd on my HC3 was blue and when I would hit capture the screen would be blue but the timecode would be be rolling and skipping seconds at a time and maybe I will get a few half seconds if video captured.

I have downloaded HDVsplit ,& vegas 7 trial but none of them worked . So I un-installed everything and reloaded Vegas 6 and HDVsplit and I was able to capture 1 time on HDVsplit and once on vegsas 6 then I have not been able to capture since. I have un-installed and re-installed both a few time but Im not able to capture. I still get a blue lcd screen even on my camera when the firewire is attatched. I even tried a system restore to a previous date when capturing was working but it did notwork .

I have a 3ghzP4,1 gig of ram, a 200GB HD & a 400GB HD. Do I need more ram,a video card, or a new computer . Im so frustrated, any suggestions?

    Thanks Joey

Im using Vegas 6 and using internal capture, I guess that’s why I couldn’t find the scene detection . What ever I did I can’t capture video anymore, my camera freaks out and and goes to blue screen on the camera and the time code skips and usually nothing actually captures. Im going to try to un-install vegas 6 and re install it . I wonder if some how I made a conflict somewhere . I t was working fine but not now.
