My Vegas history so far . I bought Vegas 6 when I purchased my HDR-HC3 2 weeks ago and I was able to capture HDV through the File, capture video tab for 2 weeks so far. I was able to capture video but the preview window was always a blue screen but I could watch it through the lcd on my camcorder .

The night before last I captured a clip but it was doing the scene splitting so I set all the settings to default hoping that a window would pop up.I was tired of the scene split function and then I put them all back to where they were before. Then when I went to capture more video and I could not get a preview even on my camcorder and the and while captureing the time code has up to 6 seconds of drop out . I am un able now to capture any video except I can capture in camera mode with no problem.

Did I flip some setting in my computer that does not allow me to capture video now or is there a setting in vegas that Im missing ? Any advice would be great.

HOW are you capturing? Vegas 6 didn’t have scene detection for HDV. Are you using the INTERNAL or EXTERNAL capture app? INTERNAL is for HDV and EXTERNAL is for DV. Vegas 7 added scene detection for HDV.

Im using Vegas 6 and using internal capture, I guess that’s why I couldn’t find the scene detection . What ever I did I can’t capture video anymore, my camera freaks out and and goes to blue screen on the camera and the time code skips and usually nothing actually captures. Im going to try to un-install vegas 6 and re install it . I wonder if some how I made a conflict somewhere . I t was working fine but not now.

Hold down CTRL-SHIFT when you start Vegas. It will revert to factory default settings.
