Where is the scene detection box ?

After you open vidcap, go to Options – Preferences and it’s one of the checkboxes there.

Thanks I found it but it does not recognize my camera in HDV mode

The external vidcap program is for DV. The INTERNAL is for HDV. When you open the internal capture, there’s a “Prefs” button in the upper left. Click on that. Now on the “General” tab, the LAST option is “Enable HDV scene detection” – just uncheck that box.
