Hey thanks guys. I am also shooting video. I am using the native video format which seems to fit about 16mins on a 16GB camera.

Does ML suck the battery ?

Also I am shooting sometimes in Australia which is PAL , is there a 25 option of 5D2 ?

Did you hit the sample button. Also sometimes the you need to select the spot on the timeline that you want to sample. I think it is a bug in MBDN that it sometimes selects the sample location to be somewhere random on the timeline so you may have to hit sample a few times to get it to sample the clip you want.

Also I have separate audio from a zoom recorder which I will add to time line and sync with plural eyes. So I guess it is not just as easy as batch converting the files as I will need to export from timeline. I do not have a lot of experience with Frame rates so if anyone has any tutorials or advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you

Ok if I have a drive with say 10 projects on it and each project has a bunch of sessions with different edits. Is there any way to manage or batch manage all projects on a specified drive to another drive? or do you have to manage each project individually.

Also is it possible to manage a bunch of sessions within a project or do you need to Media manage each session individually?

Media manager seems to be chugging along and the way to go. Chris are you saying that there are advantages to saving project files on the Mac HD and media files on external drives ?

I am guessing everything has to be archived using media manager. I would like to start fresh and open a new project on Graid 2 and import 3 files. Very simple. However FCP when booting up wants to reference a whole heap of stuff from past sessions on Graid 1 ?

All grading and color has been locked off and looks great in FCP. I am specifically talking about the QT export.

  • timeline is pro res 422 , exporting as QT with current settings. The QT looks washed out.

is enable final cut color tick box a FCP 7 thing ?

February 7, 2011 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Converting 29.97 progressive to 25

Sound is on a Zoom H4n , So thinking load Video and Audio on a 29.97 timeline . Pluraleyes (sync audio) and then export or convert. Time not a problem. For some reason I had the impression that if we shot with a shutter speed that was a multiple of the power supply being 60 Hz. that we could still shoot in a fluro environment in PAL. Obviously we need to go to a fluro lit environment at night time to test.
