    Hi Dave,

Yes funny story, the “actual” footage for the scene was not the one that is being used. It was a much tighter shot. This scene was shot with a “Behind the scene” HD camera. It was never intended for use. However, it had the better angle. Also, of course (like an idiot) I said, “sure…i can make it work.” 🙂

Also, you should have seen the speed of the plane last week, it was moving like a goodyear blimp (LOL)
    I will make it faster.
    Thanks,
    Lou

    Hi Michael,
First, Thanks for your kind words of incouragement.
I will try what you said to do. Also, sorry for the poor copy, the other problem I discovered is, the scene looks darker on my other pc,which will be another bridge to cross at a later time.
    Bye for now,

    I thought I tried that?
I went into the precomp, added time, dragged the layer, went back to the main comp and tried to pull the front edge. No luck. It extended at the end of the comp but not the begining.

Hmm? I better try it again and… think this time 🙂
    Bye,

    HI chris,
I just did a Capture test with both XHA1 & HV20 footage, the XHA1 properties said 23.976 but the HV20 said 29.976. The HV20 was set to 24 mode and also the XHA1. Are you saying that there’s a setting on the camera to make it come in at 23.976?
    Thanks,
    Lou

    Hi Guys,
Wow, now you just opened up a can of worms.
Ok, this is what i found out… The camera (Canon HV20) when I captured into cs4, although I shot it in 24p mode, Canon hv20 added the extra frames to 29.976. (I did not know that) I thought it was film as 29.976. I thought I forgot to switch it to 24p. So, what I did was Press GUESS 24A PULLDOWN in AE, and when I scrubed thru, I had not still frames. (Every frame has movement.) I don’t know what is going to happen when I send it back to cs4.
Anyway, you raised another question…. Maybe another topic….
All fooage that was shot with Canon’s XHA1 was in 24p mode.
Shouldn’t I work in 24 frames in cs4 & AE? The movie is going to be shown in Film festivals so I’m guessing DVD to projection screens?
So are you saying I am working in the wrong frame rate?
Why would I want to convert it to 29 frame? Doesn’t it convert automatically when you rendering it?
    Thanks so much,
    Lou

    HI Chris,
Yes around here, I’m a 3d artist, compositer, Editor, paint Dept.,
Visual effects artist and now…. color corrector & DVD Burner.
I get yelled at when I don’t have the answers. I think I am going to sneak into everyones home and adjust their tv set to look like my monitor.
Basically color..is NOT the problem, it’s shadow & Highlights.
Some shots are darker aound the eyes where shadows from hair are.
On the monitor, everything looks perfect.
What about Vector Scopes and stuff like that? Would that help?

    Thanks,
    lou

    Hi Ben,
    Thanks for the quick response,
    Yeah it’s so fustrating.
I gave a copy to a friend at NYU, and he said “why didn’t you color correct it?” I said what?, it looks beautiful on my tv.
He said it looks like sh_t here.
I’m pull all my hair out! Of course when I said to him…it must be your tv, he said, Why does all of my DVD rentals look good?
I wanted to put my hand thru the phone and grab him by the neck. (LOL)
    Thanks again,
    Lou
