  • Hi,

It seems that your project framerate is 59.951 (where does this come from?), and you render to a 59.94 (double NTSC) framerate file.
So there’s a difference, and still there’s no information about the source framerate (the media you are using in your project).

    Kind regards

  • Hi,
Seems you accidentally deleted those events somehow. Probably you deleted something unnecessary, but that was grouped with other events, which were grouped, linked, etc….

Do you have a previous version of your project?
If not, I can think of very few things you can try.
If you still can, try to quit without saving (or saving to another file), hopefully your events will be then there.
If this fails, I think you have a veg.bak beside your project. Try to rename it to another.veg and open it in Vegas.
Hopefully you’ll have your missing events in it…
That’s all I can think of. Maybe the more experienced experts will have some better ideas…

    Best regards

August 23, 2016 at 7:47 pm in reply to: How to increase audio gain above 12 db

    Hi,
first you could try to normalize your audio. (Right click the audio, select swicthes, and look for “normalize”).
This will adjust the volume to the maximum that can be done without distortion.

Other approach is to add volume envelope and drag it upwards, you can gain so +6dB (That’s +18dB with the track volume).
Press shift+V when the audio track is selected, or select the insert menu/audio envelopes.

You can also apply “non realtime FX”, and add “volume”, so you can have another +6dB gain (you can apply multiple times).
And probably there are other ways, which I’m not aware right now.

And at last, but not at least, you can apply “track compressor” (It’s possible both to event, or track, but you need only one – track FX’s already have compressor by default, you just need to switch it on).
For start, you can set threshold to -20dB, amount to 10, attack to 0, release to 200 msec, auto gain and smooth sat. to true. This will give you kind of automatic gain on your audio track, of course you’ll need to tweak it to your needs. The above settings I described are very drastical 😉

    Kind regards

  • Hi,
this is just my guess, as I don’t know the details what really happened to you.
You may see the interpolation, which Vegas does by default, if your source framerate is not the target framerate.
I saw this effect too: I do my recordings in 1920*1080@50p.
If I want to render this to -say- 25p, the ghosting is there.
If I don’t want it, I disable resample (right click/poperties).
Sometimes -lets say people are dancing on a stage- I don’t want to resample. Sometimes -say I need a slowmotion- I do want resample.

So, check the framerate of your source material and the target you want render to.
If the framerates are aliquot, you can disable resampling. Otherwise I’d expect a worse result.

    Hello,

You may look at JVC GY-HM600.
I’m currently using this cam, and honestly, I’m very pleased with it.
Footage from it works great in Vegas.

It does have SDI, in case you need it 🙂

    Kind regards

  • Hi,
Can you play this file with vlc or potplayer?
Did you try to turn off GPU acceleration in Vegas?

    Hi,
On the picture I don’t see any outline …
However, such thing could happen, if your above (masked) track is not 100% accurately placed, or has minor differences in effects parameters I guess.
A quick and dirty fix could be to blur your mask a bit (using its feather option).
If you have the time, inspect your tracks and FX for any inaccuracy.

    Hope I could help…

Oh, I forgot to mention, that instead of an event, you can apply the FX to the track itself.
Animating works similar in this case…

    Hi,

    So here I am 😉

Apply Punch FX to your clip (event).
Then when you open FX properties, click on the animate button on bottom left:

Then you’ll see a timeline, here you can add/remove/move/modify keyframes.
When you right-click a keyfram, you can change the interpolation method between them.
I guess you are looking for the “smooth”, but you can try the others too.
By default the interpolation is linear.

    I hope I could help

    Kind regards

Sure, later. Right now I’m far away from my computer, I’ll try to help better when I get back 😉
