Hi,
May the motion blur is what you are looking for.
Press ctrl-shift-B, and the video bus appears on the bottom of your timeline.
Right click and add envelope “motion blur”.
You can keyframe this envelope, so use it only at the portion you need.
You may need the other envelope, “supersampling”.
Setting it to a higher amount will produce much finer motion blur.
You can try different motion blur types, set that in project properties.
Be aware, that a long motion blur with supersampling requires a lot of processing power, so the preview may get stuttery.
Hope that helps ????Best regards

February 6, 2017 at 11:40 am in reply to: Vegas 14 (any build) multicam edit and GPU/CPU usage while show full frae on external monitorHi,
Thanks for your answers guys! ☺
I feel a bit misunderstood. I know that my system is not the top, and my question was about GPU usage in a (not so) special scenario.
Now I know Steve, that you don’t use GPU at all. I could do this way as well, but I then still don’t see any benefit of Vegas 14 over Vegas 10 other than that the V14 is GPU accelerated, and why did I pay for the upgrade then? Better would spend my money on HW upgrade ????
Just finished a render this morning: 23 minutes long fullHD AVC render done in 16 minutes. With CPU only this would take definitely much longer. So I want to continue to use GPU… ????
In my case, the bottleneck is not the amount or speed of memory. Vegas 14 is totally capable to decode and play smoothly a 3 cam shot.
Here’s screenshot of it (look at the load and preview fps):

That clearly shows, that GPU is used, preview runs at 25 fps, and CPU is not maxed ☺
This is the load I would expect anyway. Now when I switch on the external preview, the situation changes:

GPU usage drops. I don’t expect the i5-3570 to be able to keep up a smooth preview on a 3 cam shot like this. But there’s a whole lot of computational power in the GPU, which would help a lot (proof is the situation before), now that GPU power is just there unused. And this is what I find weird.
BTW, if I disable GPU acceleration I get the same poor preview performance, which for me shows, that Vegas just does not use GPU when multicam edit and external preview is on.
My question:
is this a general phenomenon with any type of (supported) GPU, or it’s just my setup/driver/specific GPU?
Thanks ????Best regards

Hi
[Rob Lindsay] “3. It seems that Vegas is only using 200 mgs for Dynamic Ram Preview. What is that?”
If you selet a region of time on the timeline, and press shift-B (or in the main menu select Tools / Build Dynamic RAM preview), that portion of the timeline is selectively prerendered into RAM. Say, there are couple of composite tracks with numerous effects, which require huge computational performance for smooth playback. You can prerender such a section or region. Dynamic RAM preview is the amount of memory buffer to store such prerenders. You can increase this value, but if you don’t use this feature, there will be no benefit, but the opposite, because you dedicate RAM to a purpose which you don’t use, and loose that RAM otherwise available for other useful things.
I noticed that if this value is set to zero, that deeply impacts rendering performance. So this buffer is probably used during normal renders as well.
I would keep it at the default setting, unless there’s a clear sign, that you need more buffer (for longer prerenders), increase the value to have more buffer, or decrease if you need more free RAM (but don’t go down to zero).
You can experiment how much buffer you need for your renders to work normally.Best regards

January 20, 2017 at 7:22 am in reply to: Adobe Ease In/Ease Out vs. Vegas Keyframe SmoothnessNice comparison, thanks Rob!
It shows, how different kinds of movement is possible to do in Vegas.
However these movements are smooth (if needed), but only along a straight line…
But what if you want a smooth, kind of “natural” motion along a curve?
That’s a weakness of Vegas, no doubt, it’s almost impossible. (But there’s a workaround…)
How would that (or similar) go with Premiere? In Vegas I need Vegasaurs tweener tool for that.
Now I move a “mouse” cursor over a PAL test pattern.Design the motion very roughly

The result:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYV4gkVEALsAnd the kind of smooth motion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCQ8QtqvUNAAll that in 5 minutes. Would something like that work in Premiere?

January 17, 2017 at 6:15 am in reply to: Anyone else experiencing reduced preview quality on new release? Is there a new build beyond 211?
I’m on build 211, and didn’t notice performance drop since the previous release.
I’m not using any prores stuff though, only avc footages and lagarith avis.Best regards

January 13, 2017 at 7:18 am in reply to: Sony Vegas 14 Cannot Open Project Get Message “Windows Out Of Memory”[Steve Rhoden] “Seems there is an issue with having both Vegas 13 and Vegas 14 installed together on the same system!”
Hi Steve,
May that depend on the system itself?
I have Vegas 10 (both 32/64 bit versions), 13 (b545), 14 (b211 ) installed.
They don’t seem to hurt each other at all (on Windows 7).
The most problemfree is Vegas 10, personally can’t remember a glitch with it, but it totally lacks GPU support.
I just keep it installed “just in case”, now I use V14 daily. It definitely has some issues, however with the GPU works still a whole lot faster than V10 ☺
V13 is just there, I’m too lazy to uninstall it right now, and who knows (?) I may need it in a special case…Best regards

There was a problem with .mts for me too. That was few builds before ☺

They obviously changed the program, at least fixed few problems that made V13 almost unusable for me.
So for me V14 got much better. A cure for the one, might be a disaster for the other?
Anyway, I would like to ask you, to be so kind contact MAGIX, and describe them your problems.
I know, Vegas is not free of bugs. If you find one which is so easily reproducible, they will be able to fix it.
The same problem you encountered may hit someone other next time…Best regards

January 12, 2017 at 7:31 am in reply to: Getting Periodic Crashes with nvoglv64.DLL ErrorHi,
The name of the dll suggests it belongs to NVidia drivers.
Do you have an nvidia card?
If yes, did you recently receive an (automatic) update to it?Best regards
